OPENING CEREMONY

We are delighted to invite you to the opening ceremony of the WPA IC 2012 on October 17, 2012 in the Congress Hall of Prague Congress Centre.
The program includes traditional costumed Moravian set of dances and dulcimer music presented by the Strážničan cimbalom band. The Strážničan cimbalom band was founded in 1986 in Strážnice, a South-Moravian town with rich music tradition from which even composer Leoš Janáček drew inspiration for his music works. The basic repertoire of the music band consists of folk songs from Strážnice and its environs.
The dance programme will consist of several unique dances such as Wedding paired dance of lovers or Verbuňk dance derived from the tradition of recruitment of young men for the military service. This dance has also been included in the UNESCO intangible heritage.
CONCERT IN THE BETHLEHEM CHAPEL

The Bethlehem Chapel is a medieval religious building located in the centre of the Old Town. The chapel was founded in 1391 and it could host up to 3 000 people. The history of the Bethlehem Chapel is connected with the Czech reformer Jan Hus (1365–1415) who was preacher and rector of Charles University in Prague. The wall paintings are largely from Hus's time.
During the concert you can enjoy the impressive music from the Czech composers from our congress graphics – Bedřich Smetana, Leoš Janáček, Gustav Mahler and Antonín Dvořák presented by the Atlantis orchestra and sopranos. There will be a cocktail held after the concert. During the evening wine and canapés will be served.
PRESIDENTIAL DINNER AT KLÁŠTERNÍ RESTAURANT

The Klášterní restaurant is located within the premises of the Strahov Monastery, which has been for centuries a centre of culture and art. The restaurant offers Bohemian specialities prepared according to age-old recipes.
The evening offers not only gourmet experience, but also a programme of brass band, folk, and cimbalom music with demonstrations of traditional Bohemian and Moravian dancing in folklore costumes.
Klášterní restaurant will amaze you with romantic atmosphere of Strahov monastery in the historical centre of Prague.
DINNER CRUISE ON VLTAVA RIVER
