Terms and Conditions

A minimum number of participants are 15. Congress Secretariat reserves the right to cancel the tour for which a minimum number of participants have not registered. In this case another tour will be offered or a refund will be made after congress.

The price includes pick-up service (drop off – in case of minimum participants for a bus), English speaking guide, entrance fees and truly enjoyable experience on these trips.

Meeting point will be at Prague Congress Centre, Entrance no. 10. Please be at the meeting point 20 minutes before the departure time in schedule.

 

Cancellations, changes and refunds

The following cancellation conditions apply to the cancellation of a tour res­er­va­tion:

Cancellation before & on September, 28, 2012:  full refund
   less a handling fee of 15 EUR
 
Cancellation from September 29, 2012:  no refund

Please inform the Congress Secretariat of amendments or cancellations in writing by e-mail (wpaic2012@guarant.cz) or fax (+420 284 001 444) only. Changes by telephone will not be accepted.

The most marvellous views of Prague are offered by its antique towers. During this tour, you will visit two that offer particularly impressive views – the tower of the Old Town City Hall and the Lesser Town Bridge Tower.

Within the Old Town City Hall, you will not only ascend to the tower (lift is available) but also visit the representative quarters and the historical cellars. We will pass Charles Bridge on foot and visit the Lesser Town Bridge Tower.

The tour is particularly suited to those who have already had an opportunity to go around Prague.

This one-day trip will introduce you to the life of Bedřich Smetana, one of the most famous musical composers of all times. We will take you to the beautiful town Litomyšl, Smetana‘s birthplace, where you will see the Smetana museum as well as the beautiful Litomyšl castle, registered on the UNESCO Heritage List, and much more. This place is definitely worth to see.

The thematic focus of this walk tour is the history of music and its prominent Czech representatives. Music admirers and those interested in its history will certainly find this tour particularly interesting. You will visit the Dvořák and Smetana museums.

Please accept our invitation and join our combined guided tour which will show you Prague as one of the most beautiful European cities with millenial history and architecture.

Our guide will start by showing you the Nove Mesto (the New Town) with Wenceslas Square and the National Museum, a view of the Prague Castle, the Mala Strana (the Lesser Town) and Charles Bridge, all this in the course of a trip on our air-conditioned bus.

You will then take a walk through the Prague Castle courtyards, while learning about the Castle‘s history, and you will visit the interiors of its most important landmark, the St. Vitus Cathedral. When the 90-minute walk is over, the bus will again take you through the Lesser Town to the Kampa Island, from where you will cross Charles Bridge and take a pleasant walk through the Old Town and the Jewish Town. The sightseeing tour ends on the Old Town Square, with the Astronomical Clock on the Old Town hall and in front of the Týn Church.

 

ANTONÍN DVOŘÁK AND NELAHOZEVES nelahozeves.bmp

Nelahozeves, a small town situated approximately 30 km north of Prague, is the site of , the a magnificent Renaissance chateau much favoured by visitors. Its attractions include a precious collection of paintings and handicraft works. Inside, visitors can see the beautiful original furniture, precious glass, porcelain, musical instruments, ceramics and valuables from precious metals, and the most ancient exhibits date from the 12th century. Besides the chateau, Nelahozeves is also the birthplace of Antonín Dvořák, the world-renowned composer and the author of the „From the New World“ symphony; his native house is still to be seen. As a child, Antonín used to play the organ in the loft of the local St. Andrew´s church.

During this walk, which takes about 2 hours, we will show you the so-called Royal Route – the route taken by the Czech monarchs during their coronation ceremony, starting from the Powder Tower and proceeding via Celetna Street to the Old Town and across Charles Bridge and the Lesser Town Square to the Prague Castle. During the trip, we stop at the nearby Church of Our Lady Victorious, where a charming statue of the Infant Jesus is admired by visitors from all over the world. It is exhibited since 1556 when it was first brought from Spain.

Join us for a visit of Prague Jewish Town, also called Josefov (after Emperor Joseph). Our tour starts with a walk through Old Town. We will pass the place where Franz Kafka grew up and enter the original Jewish quarter. Our guide will tell you about the history of the former Jewish ghetto and about the oldest synagogue in Central Europe, the Staronova (Old-New) Synagogue. You will visit the Old Jewish Cemetery as well as several synagogues that form part of the unique Jewish Museum complex.

The price of the tour includes the entrance fees to four major synagogues (the Maisel Synagogue, the Pinkas Synagogue, the Klausen Synagogue and the Spanish Synagogue) and the famous Old Jewish Cemetery.

The Jabkenice forest lodge is located near large fields and meadows with beautiful natural sceneries. The lodge originally served as the seat of the forest office of Duke Thurn-Taxis. From 1875 onward, Bedřich Smetana´s son-in-law Josef Schwarz worked here, and the deaf Smetana spent here the last decade of his life (1875-1884) together with his family and created here a number of his major works.

This tour will show you one of the most beautiful parts of Prague. First you will take a ride by a historical tram to the Prague Castle, passing on your way Queen Anne's Summer Palace (the Belvedere). At the Castle, you will see the Court and take a brief look into the St. Vitus Cathedral. Then you will take a walk through the beautiful streets and lanes to the Loreta and the Strahov Monastery. From there you will descend to the Kampa Island and return by bus to Congress Centre.

Would you like to see Prague from a different perspective? A cruise on the Vltava river is among the favourite pastimes of Prague visitors. We will drive you to the pier by bus, equipped by a modern headphones system, and then you will spend one hour aboard the cruise ship. You will have amazing views of the most impressive monuments of the historical centre: the Prague Castle panorama, Charles Bridge, the romantic Kampa Island, the picturesque roofs and charming spires of the Lesser Town and the Old Town. This tour ends at the Vltava embankment.

 

GUSTAV MAHLER, LEOŠ JANÁČEK AND SIGMUND FREUD – 2 DAYS jihlava.jpg

This two-day trip will introduce you to the life of the world-famous composers Gustav Mahler and Leoš Janáček, and along the way you will also visit the birthplace of Sigmund Freud, the founder of psychoanalysis. The first town you will see is Kaliště, the birthplace of Gustav Mahler. Next comes Jihlava, where Mahler grew up, and finally Brno, the second largest city in the Czech Republic and a beautiful town where Janáček studied composition. You will stay in Brno overnight and enjoy the atmosphere of the city. The second day is divided between Brno in the morning, then Janáček‘s birthplace Hukvaldy and finally Freud‘s birthplace Příbor. You will have a lovely and interesting time, full of stories, histories and many beautiful places.
